Hotel Rwanda Hero Paul Rusesabagina and Renowned Poet Sonia Sanchez to Speak

Mr. Paul Rusesabagina, the famed real life hero whose story is documented in the movie Hotel Rwanda with Don Cheadle, will give the Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Lecture. Distinguished poet Sonia Sanchez will perform a reading of her work. Dr. King's sister, Christine King Farris, will be a special guest at a roundtable discussion. The occasion marks the launching of the electronic finding aid of the Martin Luther King, Jr. collection.

We will guide you on a tour of photographs, manuscripts and correspondence from actors and playwrights whose stage craft have dazzled us through the years. Review original manuscripts and hand written letters from such theatre greats as Angela Lansbury, Jane Alexander, Betty Buckley, BD Wong, Tyne Daly and Craig Lucas. See how these legends made their Broadway dreams come true.

Tony Award Winner Betty Buckley to Speak at BU

Betty Buckley, an award-winning theater, film and television actress, will speak on November 19, 2009 as part of the Friends Speaker Series. Ms. Buckley has performed extensively on Broadway, including Sunset Boulevard and her Tony award-winning role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats. Known for her acting, Ms. Buckley is also an accomplished singer and composer who has made 13 solo albums and tours across the U.S each year. Ms. Buckley's papers are collected at the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center.
